DEPT-EMPLOYMENT Comments The DeKalb County School System is seeking high quality teachers to fill future vacancies. The purpose of this posting is to create a generic pool of high quality applicants interested in the DeKalb County School District. Applicants must hold teacher certification in High School Math and possess a strong content base for the subject matter. The preferred applicant must have knowledge of a standards-based classroom and understand the importance of providing excellent classroom instruction. Do you hold a valid Georgia Educator?s Certificate? (Teaching, School Counselor, Media Specialist, Social Worker, Leadership and School Psychology)
OR Do you possess a professional Out-of-State Educator?s Certificate?
OR Do you possess an expired Georgia Educator?s Certificate? (Teaching, School Counselor, Media Specialist, Social Worker, Leadership and School Psychology)
OR Are you currently completing your Student Teaching experience?
OR Do you hold a Bachelor?s degree or higher from an accredited institution with at least a 2.5 GPA and have passed or exempted the appropriate basic skills and content area assessment(s) for this field?
OR Do you hold a Georgia Non-Renewable (NT) or Non-Professional Non-Renewable (NNT) Teaching Certificate?

References must be requested from your CURRENT and PREVIOUS SUPERVISORS. ACCEPTABLE REFERENCES must be listed in the Employment History of your application. Have you received three (3) unsatisfactory performance evaluations in the past three years from any public school system in Georgia?

Have you ever been convicted of any felony or misdemeanor or have you ever pled Nolo Contendre or are you now under investigation for any such offense, other than a minor traffic offense? For the purpose of this application, Driving Under the Influence (DUI)/Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) and Boating While Intoxicated (BWI) must be reported.
